Instrumental Music

Instrumental Music offers three different ensembles, performing in four concerts a year, and taking trips.

Overview

Instrumental Music currently offers three different performing ensembles. The String Orchestra is open to any student who plays a traditional orchestral instrument; violin, viola, cello, and bass. The Concert Band is the intermediate level wind ensemble open to wind, percussion, and string bass players. The Symphonic Band is the advanced level wind ensemble featuring winds, percussion and string bass.

Instrumental Music students will learn and perform music representing a diverse selection of composers and music in different styles, and from different historical periods. Students will also have the opportunity and be encouraged to perform in small ensembles throughout the year.

Highlights

Students in each ensemble will perform in four concerts a year on campus at SRHS. In addition, students will perform at the two ArtQuest Showcase events, graduation, and have the opportunity to travel. In the past our ensembles have performed in locations and concert halls throughout Europe, Asia, and North America.
